Pantai Kamloon Recreational Park (22 July 2015)
Pantai Kamloon Recreational Park (GPS: 5.56404, 100.44477) is a now disused recreational park within the wetland areas of Seberang Perai Utara. It is located at Kampung Tanjung Rambai in
Kepala Batas, at the border between
Penang Mainland and
Kedah.
I explored Pantai Kamloon Recreational Park on 22 July, 2015. I looked at the elevated walkways that are now left to rot, railings that have fallen off and pavilions that are no longer reachable. I do not know why Pantai Kamloon was abandoned. I was told by a visitor that it used to be very popular with the locals.
The concrete wall at Pantai Kamloon Recreational Park (22 July 2015)

The scenery at Pantai Kamloon Recreational Park is gorgeous. The area is dotted with ponds with sluice locks. There is a rusting boat (or something like it) parked by the bank of one of the ponds. A concrete wall runs parallel with the
North-South Expressway. It cuts across the walkway. I do not know why this concrete wall was built and what is its purpose - is it to control flooding? Is it effective?

A boat - is this a sand dredger - moored at Pantai Kamloon. (22 July 2015)
