Passions of Kerala, New World Park (20 October 2020)
Passions of Kerala is a banana-leaf restaurant in
New World Park, Penang. It offers South Indian cuisine served on the banana leaf. The restaurant serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. There is a usual set meal which can be added to with other accompanying dishes.
Passions of Kerala originally opened in
Brown Garden, and was known as Iniras. I am told that
that outlet in Brown Garden has since been sold but it has also been renamed Passions of Kerala.

My visits to Passions of Kerala
20 October 2020
I made a return visit to Passions of Kerala after not eating here for a while. The last time I visited it, was in the company of a developer friend, where I had lunch with him and his sons. On 16 September 2020, I had visited Passions of Kerala in Gelugor. I enjoyed the lunch I had there, and am eager to compare how it fared with the original restaurant, now only at New World Park.
On this visit, I ordered the tomato rice while my wife had the white rice banana leaf set. We also ordered the deep-fried cauliflower and deep-fried ladies fingers. One thing that we got here, which we didn't get at the Brown Garden outlet, was pickled fruits, which my wife enjoyed very much.
As it turned out, I enjoyed the meal very much, so much so that it made me want to return almost immediately.
