Penang Chinese Swimming Club (17 January 2017)

The
Penang Chinese Swimming Club (GPS: 5.46325, 100.3045) is a swimming club located at the border of
Tanjong Bungah and
Tanjong Tokong, Penang. It was founded in 1928 because the then Penang Swimming Club does not allow the local Chinese to be members.
In 1962 the Penang Chinese Swimming Club built the first Olympic-size swimming pool in Penang. The pool is filled with filtered sea water, claimed to increase buoyancy.
Initially opened to the public, the Penang Chinese Swimming Club pool is now exclusively for members and members' friends, who are charged RM5.00. Membership to the Penang Chinese Swimming Club now stands at around RM7,000.
