Penang Skills Development Centre

Penang Skills Development Centre , or PSDC (GPS: 5.31993, 100.2905), is a centre established to help maintain Penang's position as an industrial hub. Established in 1989, PSDC was a pioneer in skills development, and is thus the model used by other states when they developed their own skills centre.

The PSDC draws from a membership pool comprising the manufacturing companies in the surrounding free industrial zones of Penang. Today the centre has some 190 members whose combined workforce represents half the workforce of all the free industrial zones and industrial parks in the state.

PSDC has created programs to help students make a smooth transition towards a career in engineering. It offers various programs from certificate to Master's level and various schemes to match skills to specific needs.
