Penang State Library (GPS: 5.39197, 100.3994) in Seberang Jaya is the main public library in Penang. It is managed by the Penang Public Library Corporation, or Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Pulau Pinang, which has its head office within its premises in Seberang Jaya. The Penang Public Library Corporation was established in January 1973, and was initially housed within Dewan Sri Pinang in George Town.

When the Penang State Library moved to Seberang Jaya, a new branch library was set up in George Town along Scotland Road, with a children's library alongside. Other branch libraries were also set up in Balik Pulau, Bukit Mertajam, Jawi and Bertam.

The Penang State Library is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 9:45am to 6:00pm. It is closed on Mondays and public holidays.
