Perak Road Gu Bak Koay Teow (GPS: 5.417, 100.31643) is a gu bak koay teow stall along Perak Road in George Town, Penang. It operates within Kafe Dua Lapan Dua Lapan. I have known about this gu bak koay teow stall for many years before my wife and I went there to try it for the first time. It quickly became my wife's favourite gu bak koay teow stall. At first I didn't care that much about it, as my favourite gu bak koay teow was the stall at Beach Street. But as the quality of gu bak koay teow at the Beach Street stall dropped, this stall eventually became my favourite, and as I write (May 2016), it still presently is.

As with other gu bak koay teow stalls, we do notice that price has hiked over the years. But it remains our favourite because it has not withheld the amount of ingredients. Also, the soup does not carry a beefy smell, which it does at many other stalls. Naturally both taste and quality are expected to change with time, so it's something which I need to update regularly as I continue to patronize the stall.
