Persiaran Taman Cantik, Ayer Itam, Penang (1 March 2021)


Persiaran Taman Cantik is a minor road in Taman Cantik, in the Hye Keat Estate, Penang neighbourhood of Ayer Itam, Penang. The road connects to Jalan Bukit Bendera. It branches to Lorong Khoo Hye Keat and Jalan Taman Cantik. Persiaran Taman Cantik began as a country path. For a while, it was known as Jalan Taman Cantik, but was later renamed Persiaran Taman Cantik, with the name "Jalan Taman Cantik" remaining for the two roads branching out of it.

Persiaran Taman Cantik provides an alternative access to Hye Keat Estate, in addition to the main access via Jalan Khoo Hye Keat. Sungai Air Putih flows for a short distance beside it. A small bridge takes the road across the river. It is wide enough for only one car to pass at a time. The surrounding area is very much a Chinese working class neighbourhood. It has quite a number of Buddhist temples for such a short road.

Getting there

The nearest bus stop is along Jalan Air Itam. It is served by Rapid Penang bus 201 and 502.
