Zubuchon Roasted Pig Restaurant, Makati, Manila (4 April, 2017)
Zubuchon (GPS: 14.56188, 121.01293) is a restaurant specializing in Cebu-style lechon, or roast pig. The restaurant, which is based in Cebu, finally opened an outlet in the posh Makati district of Manila in February 2017. The name of the restaurant, Zubuchon, roughly translates as "Cebu-style roast pig", being a portmanteau of "Zub" which refers to Cebu since the 18th century, and "chon" which is roasted pig.
International bloggers finally had a taste of Cebu-style roasted pig when we descended on Zubuchon for late supper. A whole roasted pig was waiting for us! Awaiting to welcome us to the restaurant is its owner, Miss Maureen Dognidon. Chef Sau did the honours in carving up the pig to serve us.
The Zubuchon lechon has a crispy skin. If you love pork, you are going to enjoy this dish.
