Kafe Pho Viet, George TownKafe Pho Viet, George Town (10 January 2017)

Phở Việt (GPS: 5.41222, 100.33451) is a Vietnamese restaurant in George Town, Penang. It is located along Beach Street (Lebuh Pantai), near the junction of Prangin Lane. The restaurant is operated by two Vietnamese ladies, Ms Quynh Nhu and Ms Grace Vu, who are married to Malaysians and have been living in Penang for over ten years. The restaurant, which opened in late 2016, offers authentic Vietnamese cuisine, prepared with fresh ingredients and most importantly, without the use of MSG. The ladies want to share with Penangites the taste of authentic Vietnamese cuisine, so you can find on their menu signature dishes representative of Vietnam, as well as a number of dishes that they have modified to appeal to the Malaysian palate.

A tour of Phở Việt

Now let me show you around Phở Việt Cafe. The restaurant is quite big. Even though a bit narrow, it is very long, and is divided into two large sections, separated by an airwell. The inner section is just nice for private parties and gatherings. At the hallway behind the front door is a sort of pantry section where you can buy various food products from Vietnam. In fact, the owners of Phở Việt Cafe was also in the business of importing Vietnamese food products into the country.

Vietnamese Drip Coffee

During my visit to Phở Việt Cafe, I had the privilege of trying their Vietnamese Drip Coffee. I liked it so much that I wanted to buy the coffee powder and dripper. They however graciously gave it to me. So now, I am enjoying Vietnamese Drip Coffee on some morning with my breakfast. About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
