Jalan Piggot, George Town, Penang (11 August 2022)
Jalan Piggot, formerly Piggot Road, is a minor road off
Jalan Scotland, in George Town, Penang. It is located across Jalan Scotland from the
Penang Turf Club.
Jalan Piggot starts at the junction of Jalan Scotland at the
Penang Public Library, forms an "L" to reemerge at
Jalan York.
Sungai Air Terjun flows through the road and into the grounds of the
Seri Mutiara. Jambatan Jalan Piggot carries the road across the river.
It is possible that Jalan Piggot was named after Lester Piggott, a famous British jockey of the 1970's who often raced at the Penang Turf Club.
