Pizzaiola Italian Restaurant

Pizzaiola, Lot 33 (12 December 2014)


Pizzaiola is an Italian Restaurant at Lot 33 in Prangin Mall, Penang. As of today, I have dined there twice. The restaurant has a wide selection of pizza and pasta. I find the pizza to be good value for money. I have never ordered any pasta from this restaurant yet, but judging from the portion I see on other people's tables, I believe I get a bigger bang for my buck by sticking to ordering the pizza.

For both visits, my wife and I ordered two pizzas to share among ourselves. We did not make a note of what topping we ordered on our first visit, but on our second, we ordered the Piccante di Pollo (RM20.80), which is grilled chicken, mixed capsicum, pineapple cubes, onion slices, sauce and mozzarella cheese; and the Salmone Affumicato (RM25.80), which is smoked salmon slices, onion slices, avocado and mozzarella cheese. I like both pizza, though my wife and I agreed that the Piccante di Pollo is rather sweet. I enjoy the smell and taste of the smoke salmon, and am pleased that they are not sparing in the amount of cheese. We also remember that the pizza we ordered on our first visit was rather salty. So, though the taste is nice, it is also on the strong side.

We are pleased to learn, when we got our bill, that it is inclusive of GST, and that there is no Service Charge. More surprisingly, they did not charge us anything for the plain water which we ordered (elsewhere, it would be expected that even ais kosong is charged). So the bill was a nett amount of RM46.60, with a mention of RM2.64 going to GST. We notice that the bill does not mention Pizzaiola, but rather Cosmic Food & Beverages Sdn Bhd, which is the operator of the outlets at Lot 33.
