PPR Taman Manggis (GPS: 5.41914, 100.3268) or
Project Perumahan Rakyat Taman Manggis, is a low-cost public housing project along
Jalan Zainul Abidin in
George Town, Penang. It comprises an 18-storey apartment complex bordered by Jalan Zainul Abidin on one side, and
Lorong Selamat on the other.
PPR Taman Manggis occupies land that was previously double-storey government quarters. These were demolished to make way for the housing project. The first phase of PPR Taman Manggis was completed in 2009. There was to be a second phase, on the remaining plot of land, however, the continuation of the project has since been bogged down by political tussle between parties representing the state and federal governments.
