Prangin Lane, George Town, Penang (4 July 2019)
Lorong Prangin, formerly known as
Prangin Lane and in
Penang Hokkien as Kiam3 Hu3 Tnia2

, is one of the lanes in the old quarters of
George Town, Penang. It runs parallel to
Prangin Road, linking
Beach Street to
Carnarvon Street.
The Beach Street end of Prangin Lane was a working-class neighbourhood. This is where support trades for the
Sia Boey Market are located, so you can find activities such as drying of salted fish and rattan making in this area.
Today Prangin Lane has been sanitized, now that the Sia Boey Market has moved away to
Macallum Street Ghaut.
