Queensbay is a neighbourhood within Bayan Lepas, Penang. It takes its name after Queensbay Mall, the biggest shopping mall in the area. The Queensbay area was formerly known as Bayan Bay. It experiences rapid commercial and residential development following the opening of Queensbay Mall. At present, the main commercial areas in Queensbay are Bayan Indah and Bay Avenue.
There isn't any schools within the vicinity of Queensbay. The nearest are Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Keong Hoe in Sungai Dua; and Kwang Hwa Primary School and Shih Chung (Primary) Branch School in Sungai Nibong.. The nearest market is the Lip Sin Market and Super Tanker Market. The nearest shopping mall is of course Queensbay Mall. The nearest hospital is Pantai Hospital. The nearest petrol station is the Petronas at Bayan Baru, the two Shell stations at Sungai Nibong, the Caltex at Sungai Nibong and the Esso near Bukit Jambul Complex.
Traffic in the Queensbay area
Access to Queensbay is through the Sungai Nibong Expressway and Jalan Aziz Ibrahim, which connects to the Sungai Nibong junction at the Express Bus Terminal. Both the expressway and Jalan Aziz Ibrahim experience heavy traffic especially during rush hour, Friday evenings and Saturday evenings. When these two are jammed, you are cut off from the rest of Penang - but at least you can go shopping at Queensbay Mall.

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
