Rainbow Skywalk (GPS: 5.41454, 100.3297) is a glass observatory walkway at The TOP in Komtar. Located on the 68th floor of Komtar Tower, it is the highest outdoor observatory walkway in the country. The walkway offers unimpeded views of the scenic north coast of George Town, including the Pulau Tikus neighbourhood, Gurney Drive and the coastline of Tanjong Tokong. The rest of George Town, the central part of Penang Island including Air Itam and Penang Hill, and the southern portion of the island are also visible.
Access to the Rainbow Skywalk is via the 68th level Observatory Deck, which is also the location of the Coco Cabana Bar & Bistro, the Pot of Gold, Lucky Horseshow Chair and Upside Down Musical Orchestra.

Our visit to the Rainbow Skywalk
My wife and I had a visit to the Rainbow Skywalk when we were invited by Dato' Seri Richard Koh, the owner of The TOP. He and his team took us on a tour of the place.

Visiting the Rainbow Skywalk at night
The Rainbow Skywalk looks magnificent at night, when the lights are turned on.

We tried taking a photo without flash, but we came out too dark. (8 March 2017)
But taking it with flash doesn't quite show the beauty of the walkway. (8 March 2017)
Look how fast the night falls, so we decided that to see ourselves in the photo, best to take with flash. (8 March 2017)

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
