Rainbow Stone, Permatang Damar Laut, Penang (4 February 2022)


Rainbow Stone (GPS: 5.26079, 100.27571) is a cluster of hill boulders that have been painted in rainbow colours. The rock, or "stone", is located in a forest clearing on the hill slope in Permatang Damar Laut, Penang. It is frequented by hikers and is a minor attraction of the area.

There is a total of at least 5 painted boulders in the area. In addition to that, there are also smaller stones that are painted in various bright colours.

To reach Rainbow Stone, visitors have to trek for an hour or so from the southeastern end of Lintang Permatang Damar Laut, past Pantai Esen and the Kong Hock Si Tua Pek Kong Temple.
