Jalan Raja Gopal, formerly Raja Gopal Road, is a minor road in George Town. It connects Lengkok Burma and Jalan Perak. That connection was only established in 2021, when Jalan Raja Gopal was extended to a junction on Jalan Perak. Prior to that, the stretch was only a footpath.

Raja Gopal Road is mainly residential in character with townhouses build during the mid 20th century. It was named after A. Raja Gopal, a prominent Indian businessman in the mid 20th century who served as the honorary Secretary General of the Malaysian Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Penang, in 1958-59.

Mr Raja Gopal served as the chairman of St John Ambulance Brigade, Penang. It was under him that the St John Ambulance was given space within the King George VII Maternity Hospital to be used as their headquarters.

Getting there

The nearest bus stop is along Burmah Road. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from the bus stop which is served by Rapid Penang bus 101, 102, 104 and 304.
