Recommended Economy Bee Hoon Stalls in Penang

Recommended Economy Bee Hoon Stalls in PenangRecommended Economy Bee Hoon Stalls in Penang (14 January 2018)

Economy Bee Hoon is often regarded as a cheap way to a full stomach. Although its price has risen over the decades, it is still one of the less expensive hawker food options. I asked the members of my Penang Hawker Food Facebook Group for their recommendation of good economy Bee Hoon stalls in this post. Here's their recommendation.

  1. Criz Lai recommended the stall at O&N Kopitiam (GPS: 5.38251, 100.30434) , saying the economy bee hoon has add-ons such as vegetarian duck and spring rolls in the morning.
  2. Wooi Gn recommended the stall at Kuantan Road (GPS: 5.41209, 100.32392) , selling at night only.
  3. Moh Hock Foo recommended the roadside stall at the junction of Jalan CY Choy and Tye Sin Street (GPS: 5.40963, 100.33151)
  4. Lois Lim Szu Shih recommended the roadside stall by a Chinese uncle on Kimberley Street (GPS: 5.41658, 100.33244)

  7. Dora Lee recommended the stall at the Chai Leng Park Morning Market (GPS: 5.316123, 100.441290) . There are two stalls, almost side by side. Both are equally good and popular. They even sell kiam hoo beehoon and mee teow (RM2.50 for small). Delicious! Economy bee hoon, mee and koay teow at RM1.80.Selling starts early in the morning(6.00 a.m.) until noon.

  11. Jenny Chong recommended the stall at the Tanjung Bungah Market (GPS: 5.46338, 100.28481) , saying that their homemade seasoned cili padi is a must. The stall is in the middle section. There are two beehoon stalls, side by side. The best one is on the right, managed by an old lady with her Indonesian maid.

About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
