Hanabi Japanese Restaurant, Elit Avenue, Bayan Baru, Penang (19 September 2020)


Hanabi (GPS: 5.32284, 100.28246) is a Japanese restaurant at Elit Avenue in Bayan Baru, Penang. It is on the ground floor facing Lintang Mayang Pasir 5. My wife and I decided to give it a try on 19 September 2020. My wife ordered the udon. I ordered the fried rice, miso soup, stir-fried scallops and the salmon head hot pot.

The food was not bad. It is different from other Japanese restaurants where we usually had sushi and sashimi. I had initially thought of ordering the bento set, but the items in the set were rather common to me. During our visit, the restaurant was fully occupied. Due to social distancing, all the tables were taken. There was only one person manning the restaurant, and he had to run around almost non stop, taking orders and delivering the food to the tables.
