Restoran Farsal, Bayan Baru Hawker Centre (15 September 2012)


Restoran Farsal is the nasi kandar stall at Bayan Baru Hawker Centre, Penang. It was formerly known as Pasar Nasi Kandar, or Market Nasi Kandar. When it was known as Nasi Kandar Pasar, it was my favourite nasi kandar stall in Penang. I believe now that it has been taken over by a nasi kandar chain, the taste has not differed much, though I still have to try it a few times to determine no change to taste.

Restoran Farsal is in operation from early morning till about 10:00 am, coinciding with the running of the Bayan Baru Market. Often queues would form. Among the dishes I usually have with my nasi kandar here include ladies finger, egg plant, fish and beef.

I haven't been to this nasi kandar place for a while because the last time I went there, the taste was not that satisfactory. But after a break of many months, I decided to try it again. This time I changed from my usual order. Instead of ordering beef and fish, this time I ordered squid.

As it turned out, this time I like it very much. This is how it looks like:
