What a crowded house at Restoran Zim Sum (17 April 2016)
Restoran Zim Sum has moved from Anson Road to Macalister Road for a while before we make a visit to it there. Part of the reason was that my wife wasn't all too impressed with it on our one and only visit when it was at Anson Road, so it took a while for us to decide to give the outlet at Macalister Road a try.
We were recently at New Lane. Looking across from there, we saw that Restoran Zim Sum was doing quite good business, so we decided to go there one day.
That one day turned out to the be morning of 17 April 2016. We arrived quite early, just before 8:00 am in the morning. Would have arrived even earlier, if we hadn't have to spend some 5 minutes or so looking for a parking spot. The stretch of parking spot in front of the Museum @ Macalister is a no no due to bird droppings from the trees overhead. Eventually we found a spot on the other side of Macalister Road.
Restoran Zim Sum was absolutely packed when we arrived. Luckily we managed to grab a table that has just been vacated. We ordered chrysanthemum tea without sugar, when I went to choose the dim sum. As is customary for my wife and me, I also took two platters of Hong Kong-style chee cheong fun. When I returned to the table, it was my wife's turn to collect the food.

We enjoyed our meal at Restoran Zim Sum very much, so much so that we returned to it a few days later. The place is bright, unlike the former premises at Anson Road. I suppose other people enjoy it here too, which explains why the restaurant was so crowded.
One thing I don't quite like about Restoran Zim Sum is that over here, they expect you to make your own chee cheong fun. The upside is of course you get to take as such sauce as you wish, but I have accustomed to people making the chee cheong fun for me.
Our bill came to about RM25 plus, which is not too bad for the number of items we ordered.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
