With Chinese New Year approaching, the two Sunway Hotels in Penang - Sunway Hotel Georgetown and Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya - have all geared up to prepare for the celebration. In conjunction with this major festivity, both hotels will be holding a Chinese New Year Buffet Dinner on 15 and 16 February, 2018, freeing busy families from the hassle of having to prepare their own reunion dinners.
The dinners are available at both hotels. Pricing information can be seen in their respective advertisements.

Sunway Hotels Food Review
My wife and I had the opportunity of reviewing the Chinese New Year buffet dinner at Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya on 18 January, 2018. When we arrived, all the various dishes have been arrayed. There was salads, appetizers, some seafood on ice, soups, main courses, dim sum, noodles, yong tau foo and desserts.
We started our dinner by tossing the Yee Sang, making a mighty mess to give the hotel an auspicious start to the new year. Then we helped ourselves to the food. I love the deep fried prawn with b.b.q. sauce, the braised assorted mushrooms and the stir-fried chicken dice with dried chilli. I was informed that all the food that we tried during this food review represents just a sampling of what will be available during the actual Chinese New Year buffet. However, in case of inavailability of raw items at the very last minute (to maintain freshness, the hotel makes purchases close to actual date), the chef reserves the right to swap with another item.

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
