Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya and Sunway Hotel Georgetown have launched their Ramadan buffet for 2017. Entitled Sajian Dapur Nelayan, the buffet is held at both hotels from 29 May to 23 June, 2017, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. In addition to that, there is also a Hari Raya Buffet Lunch called Bingkisan Aidilfitri, from 12:00pm to 2:30pm on 25 June, 2017. All the buffets at the two hotels are priced at RM69.00nett (adult) and RM45nett (child aged 4-12, senior citizen aged 55 and above). In addition, Sunway is also holding an even bigger Ramadan spread at the Sunway Carnival Convention Centre. There, the buffet is priced at RM99nett (adult) and RM48 (child aged 4-12, senior citizen aged 55 and above)

There is an Early Bird Discount of 20% off the normal price for guests who book to attend the buffets between 29 May to 2 June, 2017.

Sajian Dapur Nelayan Food Review

My wife and I had the pleasure of enjoying the Sajian Dapur Nelayan buffet on 24 May, 2017. In fact, the hotel had wanted to invite me on an earlier date, but I have already accepted other invitations. An alternative date suggested was also not possible, as I was overseas. So the review on 24 May is the third suggested date. I am pleased to say that the hotel has been so incredibly gracious in accommodating my schedule.

And I have no regret in coming for this Ramadan buffet. When we arrived at the hotel, we saw that Sun Café, the hotel's flagship F&B outlet, was all decked out for the buffet. They have even hired a Malay musical group to provide live entertainment.

The Ramadan spread at Sunway Hotel is excellent, kudos to its Sous Chef Hamizi. What I sampled last night is just a peek at a weekly menu comprising 6 combinations that are rotated. This is to ensure repeating diners continue to enjoy a memorable dining experience.

I love the Nasi Briyani. It goes very well with the Kari Kepala Ikan and Daging Rendang Tok. Other delicious items at the buffet include Ayam Masak Lemak Cili Padi dengan Rebung, Tempe Goreng Kacang Buncis Bercili, Sayur Campur Aneka, Ketam Berempah, Udang Sambal Daun Selasih, Sayur Lodeh Campur Tempeh, Sotong Sumbat Percik, and Sayur Nangka Ikan Masin. And that's just the main items.

Spread out across the dining hall are various food stations, each with its own cluster of items. There's Kerabu, Rojak, Salad, Keropok, Bubur Lambuk, Soto, Roasted Lamb Legs, Pasembur, Laksa, and Roti Canai.

When we were done with the savoury items, we headed for the dessert table. Over here, we enjoyed the Bubur Pengat Pisang and a whole array of kuih-muih. There's also three different types of quality dates. On top of that, there's cakes, puddings, jellies and mousses.

Among the items which I liked very much include the Briyani Rice, the Daging Rendang Tok and the Bubur Lambuk. This is not the first time I've had Bubur Lambuk at Sunway, and it has always been good. Once again, I ate more than I should. It's all so tasty! My wife and I enjoyed this buffet very much. It actually exceeded our expectations. We are most grateful to Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya for having invited us to enjoy this meal.
