Roti Canai & Teh Tarik 3D Mural (2 November 2013)
Roti Canai & Teh Tarik is one of the 3D murals at the Made In Penang Interactive Museum. It celebrates the two very popular items at Penang's Indian Muslim restaurants, the
roti canai and the
teh tarik. Although both are of South Indian origin, they have acquired Malay names. The preparation of roti canai and teh tarik are skills that often display some form of showmanship.
The Roti Canai & Teh Tarik 3D Mural depicts two vendors preparing the respective items. One is flinging the roti canai doughbread while the other is frothing the tea into a glass. They appear to emerge from Malaysian stamps casually affixed to the enveloped, with a "halal" sign stamped over them.
The Roti Canai & Teh Tarik 3D Mural is one of the first to be seen by visitors entering the 3D Mural Gallery, as it is one of the closest to the staircase.
