Our Homemade Roti Jala (22 October 2016)

Our homemade Roti JalaOur homemade Roti Jala (22 October 2016)

My wife decided to make roti jala on 22 October, 2016. Although my wife usually makes roti jala from scratch, for this occasion, we are using a roti jala premix that was passed to us by our food technologists (these are the people who are working with us to prefect the taste of various local food for manufacturing).

The premix was very easy to use. We mixed it with water to the required consistency, heat up the pan and created the roti jala, as you can see above. When thix premix is mass produced, the label will provide clear instruction of the amount of water to be used.

We ate the roti jala with some chicken curry which we bought from the economy rice stall at Kim Hee Cafe across the road from the Jelutong Market (actually this is a leftover chicken curry that we wanted to finish, hence that's why we decided to make roti jala using the premix which was already given to us.) My wife was also making curry puffs on that day, so I wrapped some of the curry puff filling with roti jala, and then drenching the roll with chicken curry. It was usual and delicious to eat the roti jala that way!
