Penang Mainland. According to the state government website
1, it covers an area of 236.796 square kilometers and have a population of 362,820, as of 2010. The main towns in Seberang Perai Tengah are Bukit Mertajam, Bandar Perai, Bukit Tengah and Bandar Seberang Jaya. The administrative seat of Seberang Perai Tengah is at Bukit Mertajam. The region is divided into 22 subdistricts, known as
mukim. These are numbered 1 to 22.
