Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Gelugor (18 May 2013)
Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Gelugor (GPS: 5.37632, 100.30257) is a primary school in
Bukit Gelugor, Penang. It occupies a plot of land bordered by
Yeap Chor Ee Road,
Jalan Kaki Bukit,
Jalan Kampung Kastam and
Jalan Lembah.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Gelugor was established in 1958 and was originally known as the Gelugor English School. The school began with just a single block, now known as Blok A, and a student body of 274 pupils. It receives an intake of students from the surrounding neighbourhoods, particular following the development of Taman Tun Sardon.
SK Bukit Gelugor underwent a makeover in 2002, with the completion of a new 4-storey school building, known as Blok E. The increased space enables the school to hold all classes in a single session. The teachers' common room, the library and the theatre were relocated to the new building.
