Shahul Hamid Mee Goreng (GPS: 5.4131, 100.31327) is a mee goreng stall along Lorong Kulit in George Town, Penang. I stumbled upon this stall because my wife and I decided to visit the Lorong Kulit Flea Market, and was looking for a place for breakfast. I ordered two plates of Mee Goreng with Squid, at RM5.00 each. The seller is an Indian Muslim woman, with a daughter helping her to serve.

According to the daughter, the stall was started by her grandfather in the 1970s. This is one of the mee goreng stalls still using charcoal for their fire. The lady hawker told me that they did was switch to gas, but their customers did not find gas-fried mee goreng as tasty, so they switched back to charcoal.

Looking for a place to sit, my wife saw an old friend of hers, so we decided to share the table. I enjoyed the taste of this mee goreng. Even though the portion seemed large at first, I finished it and even ate a few spoonfuls from my wife, who found her portion to be too large for her. I enjoyed it very much.
