Sin Hwa Lam Seafood Restaurant, Bayan Lepas (4 February 2013)


Sin Hwa Lam 新華南海鮮飯店 is a Chinese restaurant in the village of Bayan Lepas, Penang. It is really a cooked-to-order restaurant, though as with many such eateries, it brands itself as a "seafood restaurant". The restaurant used to be very popular for family dinner meals.

It was often called by the moniker Ai1to1-Aito4 , which means "one about to fall apart", because the building appears to tilt to one side and appears as though about to collapse. Yet it stood its ground for all the decades.

Sin Hwa Lam specializes in cooked-to-order rice meals. One places the order of dishes and these are taken with rice.

Getting there

Sin Hwa Lam is located on Jalan Bayan Lepas, the main road. To get there, just take Rapid Penang bus 302, 305, 308, 401 and 401E.
