There are many Sin Nam Huat Chicken Rice shops all over Penang. My wife likes the one at Wayton Court on Burmah Road the most. We often go there for lunch when we are out and about and don't have time to do any cooking.

We ordered each a plate of roasted chicken with sio bak (RM4.70 each), two platters of rice and one extra rice (RM1.20 each), kiam3chye1boey4 soup (RM2.50), oiled vegetable (RM5.00), one egg each (RM1.20 each), and for drinks, the leng teh (RM1.50). We felt the chicken in the combo platter was not a lot, so we ordered extra chicken (RM4.20).

Our lunch that day came to RM30.10. We are not complaining about the price, since we ordered quite a number of items, but we do realise that chicken rice has become quite expensive. Nevertheless, we did enjoy our meal very much.

About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
