Sinar Bukit Dumbar (GPS: 5.38335, 100.31545) is a high-rise medium-cost apartment in Bukit Dumbar, Jelutong. It is located at the end of Jalan Faraday.

Facilities include 24-hour security, covered multi-storey parking lot, swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis court, children's playground, community hall, landscaped garden and general maintenance.

Location of Sinar Bukit Dumbar

Sinar Bukit Dumbar is 4.6 km from Komtar. It can be considered moderately near the city centre. However, I cannot imagine such a high-density apartment having such a poor access road. As it is, Sinar Bukit Dumbar is served by small lanes that connect it to the main road, Jalan Jelutong. The view is however glorious - you can the Penang Bridge and the entire spread of the South Channel, the same view enjoyed by the luxury apartments not more than a stone's throw away.

The nearest school is Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Phei Shin just a short walk away. Other schools include Sekolah Kebangsaan Jelutong, Sekolah Kebangsaan Jelutong Barat, Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Jelutong and Sekolah Menengah Jelutong. The Jelutong Market along Jalan Penaga is within walking distance. The nearest supermarket is Sunshine Jelutong. The nearest hypermarket is Lotus's Penang in Gelugor. The nearest petrol station is the Shell at Jelutong. The nearest hospital is Lam Wah Ee Hospital along Jalan Tan Sri Teh Ewe Lim.

Traffic situation at Sinar Bukit Dumbar

Traffic is heavy along Jalan Jelutong. There is also a bottleneck in front of the Jelutong Market. There is a makeshift divider along the road to prevent motorists making illegal turning in to Bukit Dumbar Indah, but still several risk themselves as well as on-going traffic to make the turning.

Public Transport at Sinar Bukit Dumbar

There are many bus routes along Jalan Jelutong, about 250 meters from Sinar Bukit Dumbar. This includes Rapid Penang Bus 301, 302, 303 and 401.
