21 Old Airport Road (GPS: 1.30755, 103.88448) is a coffee shop in Geylang, Singapore. It is located along Old Airport Road, between the Fairprice and the Kallang Estate Food Centre. The coffee shop appears to not have a name, so that's why I call it 21 Old Airport Road, based on the only signage on the building. Later on, I googled and saw that that name is also used by others.
I visited 21 Old Airport Road on 28 July 2017. I was walking along Old Airport Road looking for something to eat. It was my second day in Singapore for my 2017 visit. I was staying at a friend's apartment at Dakota Crescent, and decided that for a change, I do not want to eat at the Old Airport Road Food Centre.
I went to Fairprice to buy some groceries, and then saw that there was a coffee shop across the road (Jln Tiga), so I went over to check it out. I saw that the coffee shop was patronised mostly by old folks and retirees, people who have too much time on their hands while the working people are rushing off to their offices.
21 Old Airport Road has a Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodle stall, but I wasn't in the mood for wanton mee. I rounded the corner and saw a stall selling carrot cakes, so I ordered a plate.
I must say, I enjoyed the carrot cakes very much. I like it sweet and dark, just the way I would like koay kark to be done back in Penang. This simple dish ranks as one of the highlights for this trip. Even though I had it only once, I remember it well, and if I should return to this coffee shop again, I would want to order it one more time.

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
