Bukit Panjang Gospel Chapel Mr CT Teoh, Bukit Panjang Gospel Chapel
Bukit Panjang Gospel Chapel (GPS: 1.37769, 103.75935) is a church in Singapore. Although its name indicates Bukit Panjang, it is in fact located in the Gombak neighbourhood of Bukit Batok, at 12 Galistan Avenue. The church dates back to 1958, when a sister in the assembly, Nancy Wee, offered her house as gift to the church. Sunday School classes were held there in 1959 until the school was officially registered as the Bukit Panjang Gospel Chapel in December of 1963.
The original building of the church was destroyed in a fire that broke out on 28 February 1972. While the new building was under construction, services were held under a tent. The new building was eventually completed and dedicated on 24 November, 1973. It underwent renovations in 1982, with an extension added to it in 1988.
Bukit Panjang Gospel Chapel today holds services every Sunday for the English-speaking and Chinese-speaking assemblies. A total of about 250 to 300 believers attend the services.
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
