Caldecott MRT Station
(GPS: 1.33776, 103.8394; CC17) is an underground MRT station in
Toa Payoh
,
Singapore
. It opened on 8 Octoberm, 2011 to serve the
Circle Line
between the
Marymount MRT Station
and the
Bukit Brown MRT Station
. It became an MRT interchange on 28 August 2021, when the second stage of the
Thomson-East Coast Line
opened. It was the terminus of that line for a few months, with the penultimate station being the
Upper Thomson MRT Station
. On 13 November 2022, the Thomson-East Coast Line was extended through
Mount Pleasant MRT Station
towards
Gardens by the Bay MRT Station
.
The Caldecott MRT Station is named after Caldecott Hill, a private housing estate in the Central Region of Singapore. Despite the name, it is actually closer to Toa Payoh Lorong 1.
