Campbell Lane, Singapore (30 July 2017)
Campbell Lane is a minor road in the
Little India neighbourhood of
Rochor, Singapore. In its present incarnation, the road comprises two parts, the first being a one-way street from
Serangoon Road to
Clive Street, and the second being a two-way street from Clive Street to
Madras Street.
According to
Singapore Street Names1, Campbell Lane was named after one Robert Campbell, a 19th century merchant. As such, the lane is named after a different person from
Campbell Street in
Penang, and also different from Campbell Road (now known as
Jalan Dang Wangi) in
Kuala Lumpur.
