Chinatown Plaza (GPS: 1.27876, 103.84191) is a now demolished high-rise building in the Chinatown neighbourhood of Outram, Singapore. The freehold mixed-use site - a rarity within the city - was purchased en bloc in May 2018 for S$260 million by Singapore-based Royal Golden Eagle (RGE). The site can be redeveloped up to its existing gross floor area of 135,742 sqft, with outline planning permission granted by the Urban Redevelopment Authority for commercial and residential use.
In the en bloc sale, apartment owners at Chinatown Plaza were expected to receive between S$3.44 million to S$4.79 million per unit, while shop owners were expected to receive between S$1.64 million to S$10.62 million per unit.
With the change of ownership, Accor is building Singapore's first Mondrian hotel, to be called Mondrain Singapore Duxton. The luxury lifestyle hotel will have 300 guestrooms and suites, along with a restaurant, a lounge and a rooftop bar. The building will incorporate historic architectural elements from Singapore's shophouse design into a modern, contemporary structure.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
