East Coast Parkway, Singapore
East Coast Parkway (ECP) is a motorway along the southeastern coast of
Singapore. It was completed in 1981, to coincide with the opening of
Changi Airport, and has a total length of approximately 20 km (12 mi), much of which built on reclaimed land.
Originally, it connects the
Ayer Rajah Expressway to the airport, but with the completion of the Marina Coastal Expressway, which forms a new bypass for the
Central Business District, the present western end of the East Coast Parkway is now the
Benjamin Sheares Bridge, which now connects with
Sheares Avenue towards the new downtown area.

The East Coast Parkway was not a fully grade separated expressway until 1989, when the last set of traffic lights along it was dismantled with the completion of the Tanjong Rhu flyover. The expressway had one of the first gantries of the ERP, when one was installed near the Tanjong Rhu Flyover to reduce congestion during rush hour.
Exits along the expressway are numbered from east to west; the numbering corresponds roughly to the distance marker in kilometers.
