Guoco Tower (GPS: 1.27713, 103.84598) is a skyscraper in downtown
Singapore. It is located on
Wallich Street, in the
Tanjong Pagar subzone of
Downtown Core.
Formerly known as
Tanjong Pagar Centre, it is a mixed development that was completed in 2016 at a cost of S$3.2 billion. Standing at a height of 290 meters (950 feet) Guoco Tower is presently the tallest building in Singapore, surpassing the heights of
UOB Plaza,
One Raffles Place and
Republic Plaza, which have jointly held the title of tallest buildings in Singapore for 20 years.
In addition to Guoco Tower, the development also includes
Sofitel Hotel, Wallich Residence and Tanjong Pagar Park.
Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Guoco Tower was developed by GuocoLand Limited, which owns the building. It is located right above the Tanjong Pagar MRT Station, and according to its developer, is intended to be a vertical city that houses a mix of commercial, residential, retail properties, along with a hotel and an urban park.
The main component of Guoco Tower is the 64-storey Guoco Tower, which offers 890,000 square feet of lettable Grade A office space up to level 38. Housed within the tower, from levels 39 to 64, is Wallich Residence. Also within the complex is Sofitel Singapore City Centre, a luxury hotel managed by AccorHotels.
