Hotel 1929 is one of the boutique hotels along
Keong Saik Road in Singapore. It is housed in an elegant row of five units of three-storey townhouses at 50 Keong Saik Road. I do believe the hotel was named after when the building was constructed, judging from the year appearing on the façade, and that Keong Saik Road itself dates from only 1926.
It is an excellent example of the gentrification of inner city Singapore. The hotel offers 32 individually designed rooms, with no two rooms carrying a similar design.
The hotel is proud of its owner's private collection of chairs and accessories, from vintage to modern, or perhaps avant-garde. The hotel also has a fusion bar, called Ember, which serves modern cuisine with an infusion of Asian elements.
