Joo Koon MRT Station (GPS: 1.32778, 103.67853; EW29) is an above ground station of the Singapore MRT on the western extension of the East-West Line. The station was the terminus of the East-West Line after the Pioneer MRT Station (EW28). With the extension, it is now between Pioneer and Gul Circle MRT Station (EW30).
The Joo Koon MRT Station opened on 28 February, 2009. This is the station to go to the Singapore Discovery Centre. The train on the East-West Line came to a sudden halt just before the station, causing passengers to lose their balance and fall. The accident happened around 8:20am in the morning.

16 November, 2017 The Straits Times reports that a software glitch in the signalling system caused a stalled MRT train near the Joo Koon MRT Station to be hit by another MRT train.

A stalled train was hit by another train at the Joo Koon MRT station, injuring 28 commuters, two of whom seriously.
