Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) is one of the newer motorways in Singapore. It runs over a distance of 12 km (7 mi) on the eastern part of the island. The expressway was built in two section. The southern portion opened on 26 October 2007 while the rest of it on 20 September 2008.
The Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway connects the East Coast Parkway to the south with the Tampines Expressway to the north. Of the 12 km of expressway, 8.5 km was built underground through cut-and-cover. This makes it the longest subterranean road tunnel in Southeast Asia and at time of construction, the sixth longest underground road project in the world.
The Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway has three lanes in each direction. Exits are numbered from south to north, with the exit numbers corresponding roughly to the distance marker in kilometers. The following is the information on the exits on the KPE, from south to north, beginning from its start at the East Coast Parkway.
Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
