Kranji MRT Station, SingaporeKranji MRT Station, Singapore (29 July 2017)

Kranji MRT Station (GPS: 1.42522, 103.76207; NS7) is a station of the Singapore MRT served by the North-South Line. This above-ground station is located between the Yew Tee MRT Station and the Marsiling MRT Station. It began operations on 10 February, 1996.

Kranji is located in Singapore Postal District 24.

The Kranji MRT Station serves the workers of the surrounding industrial estates such as Sungei Kadut. There was an initial plan for this station to serve a future KTM Railway Station which Singapore had proposed to be sited in its vicinity. That plan has since been shelved indefinitely due to disagreement with malaysia over the relocation of the KTM Railway Station from Tanjong Pagar.

The Kranji MRT Station is prone to sudden high influx of commuters, especially during racing days, as it is located near the Singapore Turf Club. To facilitate quite passenger processing, the station is installed with a high number of fare gates.

About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
