Liang Court (GPS: 1.29156, 103.84463) is a now defunct shopping mall at Clarke Quay, Singapore. It was located within the Singapore River Planning Area in Postal District 06. The property opened in January 1984 with a podium mall and two 25-storey high rise blocks, namely the Hotel New Otani (which then became Novotal Clarke Quay) and Somerset Liang Court Residences.

Anchor tenants included the Japanese department store Daimaru and bookstore Kinokuniya. In 2004, Hotel New Otani was taken over by Accor Hotels, and was renamed Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay. The shopping mall also changed ownership, to Pidemco Land in 1999 and to Asia Retail Management Fund in 2006. Uniqlo even opened here in November 2013. However, the mall was aging and in decline, and in March 2019, the entire property was sold to Legend Quay Ptd Ltd, a joint venture between CapitaLand and City Development Limited. By August 2021, Liang Court has been completely demolished to make way for the construction of Canninghill Piers.

About this website

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.

While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
