Bayfront subzone of the
Downtown Core planning area.
Marina Bay Sands is developed by Las Vegas Sands at a cost of S$8 billion, inclusive the price of the reclaimed land on which it sits. The 5-star
Marina Bay Sands Hotel, with 2561 rooms, is presently the biggest hotel in Singapore in terms of the total number of rooms.
Marina Bay Sands is one of the two casinos being developed in Singapore - the other being Resorts World Sentosa. It is part of the Singapore's objective to diversify and develop its tourism products. It stands as the world's most expensive standalone property.
Marina Bay Sands comprise three 55-storey skyscrapers joined at the top by a 340-meter rooftop terrace called Sands SkyPark. The resort will have a 2,560-room hotel with a casino holding 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines.
Other attractions at Marina Bay Sands include an art & science museum, two theatres, six "celebrity chef" restaurants, two floating pavilions and in infinity pool.
Marina Bay Sands had a soft opening in April while its official opening was timed to 3:18 pm on 23 June, 2010, which started a 2-day celebration. At time of writing (July 2011), a number of its attractions is still under construction. These include the museum, theatres and floating pavilions, which are only expected to be ready by 2011.

How to reach Marina Bay Sands
Take the
Circle Line to the Promenade MRT Station (CC4/DT15). Marina Bay Sands is a 10-minute walk away. The future Bayfront MRT Station will only become operational in 2013 to be served by the Circle Line and the new Downtown Line.
