Marina Channel is an outlet from Marina Bay and the Kallang Basin to the open sea in Singapore. To control the flow of water in and out of the channel, the Marina Barrage was erected. It barrage is a dam that turns Marina Bay into a freshwater reservoir, keeping seawater out, and helping to control floods in low-lying areas.
