Nassim Hill is a prestigious and historically rich road in Singapore. It is located in Singapore's District 10, near the Tanglin and Orchard areas. Renowned for its lush greenery and serene environment, Nassim Hill has long been associated with luxury residences, including exclusive condominiums and Good Class Bungalows (GCBs). Nassim Hill connects to Tanglin Road. It ends at Information & Recruitment Services Pte and Nassim Mansion, which is beyond the gated segment. Taman Serasi connects it to Cluny Road.
The history of Nassim Hill dates back to the early 20th century when it became a favored location for Europeans and affluent Chinese settlers. The name Nassim belonged to a Jewish businessman, Nissim Nassim Adis (1857-1927) who owned various properties in Singapore including Hotel de l'Europe, a mansion on Mount Sophia called Adis Lodge and his company, Adis & Co. The Hotel de L'Europe is where the present Supreme Court is located. The road Nassim Hill itself was named aftefr his family house, Nassim Lodge which was built around 1855.1
During this period, many large villas were constructed along the hill, contributing to its reputation as an upscale residential enclave. The area's appeal was further enhanced by its proximity to the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site established in 1859.3
In the contemporary era, Nassim Hill continues to epitomize luxury living in Singapore. The road is home to several high-end residential developments, such as "The Nassim," a freehold condominium comprising 55 units, completed in 2015.4
Properties along Nassim Hill are among the most expensive in the city-state, with some Good Class Bungalows valued at over US$170 million.5
Beyond its residential allure, Nassim Hill offers a selection of dining establishments that cater to both locals and expatriates. Notably, the Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar provides a cozy ambiance where patrons can enjoy freshly baked goods and comfort food.6
In summary, Nassim Hill seamlessly blends historical significance with modern luxury, maintaining its status as one of Singapore's most exclusive and sought-after addresses.
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
