Nassim Road is a road in Tanglin, Singapore. This single road name encompasses numerous off shoots of the same name. The main trunk of Nassim Road connects Cluny Road in the north to Tanglin Road in the south. Aside from the aforementioned off shoots, it also branches to Lermit Road. This is a prestigious tree-lined street with luxurious properties including some of the most expensive real estate in Singapore.3
At Nassim Road are a number of Good Class Bungalows (GCBs), which are the pinnacle of residential properties in Singapore. Each of these bungalows occupy at least 15,000 square feet of land. Nassim Road has some of the most desirable real estate owing not only to its expansive plots but also its secluded ambiance.4 This exclusivity if further accentuated by the limited number of properties and the proximity to the Orchard Road shopping district. Underscoring the area's premium status was the sale of a bungalow in 2019 to Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, for US$170 million.5
In addition to those luxury bungalows, Nassim Road is also home to several embassies, including those of Russia, Japan and the Philippines, solidifying the road's reputation as one of Singapore's most coveted address.
Nassim Road was named after Nissim Nassim Adis (1857-1927), or to be precise, to his property Nassim Lodge, which was built in 1855. The owner of several businesses, including the Grand Hotel de L'Europe and the stockbroking firm of Adis & Co, Adis is believed to have acquired Nassim Lodge and gave it his name. In addition to Nassim Road and Nassim Hill, Adis Road was also named after him.1

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
