Objectifs - Centre for Photography & Film, Singapore (30 July 2017)
Objectifs Centre for Photography & Film (GPS: 1.29977, 103.85212) is a cultural organisation location at Middle Road in Rochor, Singapore. Its goal is to promote photography and film as art forms and to provide a platform for artists and photographers to showcase their work.
Objectifs offers exhibitions, workshops, and events to educate and inspire the public about the significance of these mediums. Objectifs also provides a residency program for artists and photographers to develop their projects and to engage with the local community. The centre features a well-equipped darkroom, studio space, and a library for its members to access. With its dedication to supporting the growth and development of photography and film in Singapore, Objectifs Centre for Photography & Film has become a hub for artists and creatives in the city-state.
The building housing Objectifs was previously occupied by Sculpture Square. It was originally the Middle Road Methodist Church. The church building was built between 1870 and 1875. Its trustee, Charles Philips, allowed the Methodists to use it from 1885 until it was formally transferred to the Methodists in 1892. In 1894, it became the first Straits Chinese Methodist Church in Singapore, under the name Baba Church, and was used by the church until 1929, when it constructed a bigger building and moved to Kampung Kapor, where it is now known as the Kampong Kapor Methodist Church.

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
