One Tree Island (Pulau Satumu), Singapore
One Tree Island (GPS: 1.15971, 103.7405) is the island on the southernmost part of Singapore's territory. Covering 1.3 hectares, it is also known in Malay as
Pulau Satumu. Located on the Singapore Straits, it is to the south of
Violin Island. It is off limits to casual visitors.
The only feature on One Tree Island is the Raffles Lighthouse. It was built in 1854 using granite quarried from
Pulau Ubin. The lighthouse was named after Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore.
