Orange Grove Road, Singapore (2 August 2017)
Orange Grove Road is a road in
Tanglin, Singapore. Much of the road is within Postal District 10. It connects
Stevens Road in the north to the junction where
Tanglin Road continues into
Orchard Road. In between, it branches to
Fernhill Road, Lady Hill Road,
Anderson Road and towards the southern end, Nassim Road.
According to
Singapore Street Names1, the road got its name from a house called Orange Grove which was one of the houses belonging to one Charles Carnie (1810-1873). Carnie possibly built Orange Grove in the 1860s. That house was later acquired by a local lawyer, Alexander Leathes Donaldson.
